Ninja Stars Are Known For Their Qualities

ninja stars

Most of us are familiar with the use of ninja stars; these can range from weapons to toys. Since they are both hand-held and hand-thrown, they often rate as one of the more difficult weapon styles to learn.

The weapons themselves can be thrown without having them hit anything either for throwing practice or just display. They are also ideal for use in martial arts training since ninja stars allow for greater versatility than most other weapons currently available.

How Ninja Stars Were Created: A Secret Theory

As ninjas were secretive about their technique, there is no one single source of information about how they created them so there are many different theories on how to make these throwing stars efficiently and effectively.

According to one theory, the point goes through the eye of a hawk so nothing can catch them on the way down. They are also supposed to be very sharp so they can pierce armour.

The smaller ninja stars might not be very effective against armour but they will easily pierce unprotected skin. Smaller stars are easier to hide and can also be used like shuriken, hitting several enemies by aiming at different targets. Using both hands is helpful when throwing them at targets that are farther away.

Ninja Stars Are Called Blindfolded Needles,

Many throws are made while blindfolded, which is why some people say that ninja stars are also called "blindfolded needles". The ninja star has been used at least since 15th century Japan.

It is said that Chiyomaru used it during his fight against Tokugawa Ieyasu. It was also used by Takeda Shingen who requested throwing stars from his clan heads for his soldiers to use on their enemies during the Battle of Nagashino in 1575.

The Making of Ninja Stars

A ninja star is made using only two tools, namely a straight-edged square or circular blade and an awl or punch. The first step is to cut out the blade of the ninja star by either tracing around a template or cutting it out by hand. A self-healing cutting mat, which is resistant to both heat and moisture, is used for this.

It can also be cut out on sheet metal or wood instead of using a cutting mat. The edges are then smoothed with a file to make them less sharp and hazardous to handle.

The pointy ends are then sharpened using a simple file that has been designed for this purpose. The size of the throwing star does not have to be fixed. It can be made as big or as small as desired.

The smaller ones are easier to throw so they are the most common. They also have some advantages over larger ones, such as being easier to hide and at the same time being quicker to make.

Ninja Stars Offer Many Benefits

The ninja star may be concealed, but it also has a number of advantages:

-It can be thrown and retrieved quickly and silently.

-It is very visible and easily found after it is thrown or used as a weapon.

-The ninja star can be used to distract an attacker by waving it around in the air or banging it against a tree, wall, or floor.

-It can kill an animal such as a rat with one blow if thrown at the right location.

-When retrieved from the ground, the ninja star remains sharp since no metal has been ground off of it.

-A ninja would only allow his master to cut off his hair and fingernails if he were not fit to serve his master.

Ninja Stars As Defensive Tools

Ninja stars are probably used most often as a throwing weapon, but they can also be used as a self defense weapon.

You can use them to slash an attacker who is either close to you or approaching you from behind, use them to block an oncoming blow from an opponent's blade, or stab your opponent with one end of the star if he attempts to grapple with you.
